After you've created your lead magnet and landing page, you need to drive traffic to your landing page and/or a supporting blog post that has an opt-in for your lead magnet. Remember, the ultimate goal is to build your OWN list of ideal prospects and customers.
Please note: You should have reviewed the List Building posts before taking action on this content.
One of the best FREE ways to drive traffic to your landing page or blog post is to connect with those who are already marketing to your target audience. See Influencer Marketing in the Digital Marketing Toolbox. Of course, this takes time.
If you have a budget to drive traffic, then paid advertising (Facebook, Instagram, Google Ads, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.) can drive fast traffic that results in faster list building. You can use these ad platforms to target the followers of the influencers you want to connect with.
HOWEVER, don't put all of your traffic driving eggs into one basket. A multi-channel approach is always best in case one of your traffic channels dries up. Use paid ads if you have the budget, but also use influencer marketing, content marketing, SEO, social media, and other methods of driving traffic to create a traffic driving machine to your lead magnets.
I really like the idea of creating an informative blog post or video that's relative to your lead magnet and then promoting a teaser via paid advertising that links to the blog post.
Driving traffic to a blog post, or other relevant content, builds instant trust with your prospects. It warms them up. They can click through to your lead magnet landing page from the blog post or subscribe to receive your lead magnet via an opt-in form embedded into the blog post.
For example, let's say you sell survival gear. You create a blog post about how to survive 10 days alone in the woods. This could also be a video with an opt-in form to get your lead magnet on the video. See video hosting in the video marketing section of the Digital Marketing Toolbox for video players with lead generation elements.
